As a class we were given the opportunity to have a lighting session with Mr Rosenberg. We learnt all about different lighting and colour techniques and what all of them mean. It was a hugely informative workshop and helped a lot with our filming. We learnt about filters and and how and when to use filler, key and back lights.
Lighting is very important as it is able to reflect moods and is able to create ideas within the audience, so if a thriller is supposed to be eerie at the beginning, we want the audience to be thinking that with our use of lighting.
The workshop helped us come up with the idea to have a light, blue filter over most of other thriller to give it a cold and creepy feeling, although during editing we felt the blue of the scenes didn't come across that much with our filming so we added in some more blue during editing.
